@2 What is F1 Shareware?
@4
How many times have you used a Shareware utility or game and thought
@3
'This is so good, I want to buy the full version'?
@4
And then you looked at the method of payment, CASH in a foreign currency or
money orders, bankers draft, IRC's etc. Oh dear what hassle!
Then you notice the author lives in another country with no way to check out
that he still lives there and will recieve your order. Then you remember
all the horror stories we have all heard of people sending money and never
getting the goods.
All in all it is a lot of hassle and risk for Shareware customers, this is
where the F1 Shareware scheme comes in.
We hope to do for Shareware what we have (modestly) done for Licenceware,
bring it out of the stone age and make it quick, safe, painless and simple
to get hold of the full registered versions.
@4We have contacted various Shareware authors around the world and offered
them this service. In return they HAVE to honour your order AND send it out
to you FAST. We guaruntee you will get your software or you will get a
FULL REFUND, there is no hassle or risk to you.
Now we are not a charity so we have to charge a nominal fee for this
service. It is sometimes nothing though, this is up to the author, otherwise
we charge 20%, for example Doopsi through the F1 Shareware scheme costs £18
but if you buy it direct from the author it will cost you £15, but you have
to go through the motions outlined above to save that £3.
As all our Shareware titles authors are e-mail connected we send them your
order the same day we recieve it from you.
To order just contact F1 with your credit card and we will e-mail the
author the same day with your order. Your Software should be dispatched to
you by the author within a day ot two. (Apart from EDWORD, we supply that)
You can of course still send a cheque/po to us as usual if you prefer.
@4
Obviously this scheme has only just started so we only have a few titles,
but there are many more possibles waiting in the wings and once the scheme
is up and running MANY more will join. At this stage we are not pushing too
hard to get more titles in as we are still in the 'trial' stages and any
teething problems should therefore be solved easily.
If you have any comments/ideas on the F1 Shareware scheme I would be happy
to hear them.
@6
